Food Bank

Valley Church has a mission to help feed as many special needs people and families as we are able to. Currently we serve the residents of the Lineweaver Building and the residents, the families of Mosbey Heights and Harris Gardens. We need your help to aquire the following items to fill food bags.

FOOD BAG SUGGESTED ITEMS LIST : Cereal / Powdered Drink Mix / Mac-n-Cheese / Canned Meats / Canned Vegetables / Canned Fruit / Pasta / Spaghetti Sauce / Hamberger Helper / Peanut Butter / Jelly / Soup / Crackers / Juice / Toilet Paper / Paper Towels / Soap / Shampoo / Diapers

We distribute Food Bags the 1st Saturday of every month for Harris Gardens and for Lineweaver and Mosbey Heights the 3rd Saturday of every month. Come take part in this AWESOME ministry!

The church has Empty food bags available in the main lobby every Sunday. Please contact Marie Wimer at wimerms@jmu.edu /(540) 746-6117 or Dondria Holsinger at dondria68@hotmail.com /(540) 421-6342 for weekday dropoff's and/or questions.

The Lineweaver Building

The Lineweaver Building is a 121 unit apartment complex housing government subsidized, limited and fixed income sr. citizens, veterans, disabled and special needs individuals. Please contact Marie Wimer for further information or to donate your time and/or items at wimerms@jmu.edu or (540) 746-6117. Lineweaver meets at the church at 9:15 a.m. to load up and deliver to the apartments by 10:00 a.m. Individual food bags are prepared and hand delivered.

Mosby Heights

Mosby Court behind Sharp Shopper

Mosby Heights is a community of government subsidized, limited and fixed income elderly Russian, special needs and single mothers/families. We currently serve close to 100 individuals and families. Please contact Dondria Holsinger for further information or to donate your time and/or items at dondria68@hotmail.com or (540)421-6342. Mosby meets at the church at 9:30 a.m. to load up and deliver by 11:00 a.m. For Mosby bring the sorted food in totes and set up in the activity room located at Mosby. Families and residents choose what they need. We deliver to residents as needed.

Harris Gardens

Harris Gardens is a 199 unit apartment community of government subsidized, limited and fixed income, elderly and single fathers/mothers/families. Please contact Dondria Holsinger for futher information or to donate your time and/or items at dondria68@hotmail.com or (540)421-6342. Harris Gardens meets at the church at 10:30am on the first Saturday of each month to deliver by 11:00am. For Harris Gardens bring the sorted food in packed bags and set up in the activity room located at Harris Gardens.
